[1.0 SPS 12] SAP HANA Express Edition: Setup, XSA configuration for CAL – SAP HANA Academy

In this video tutorial, Denys van Kempen of the SAP HANA Academy shows you how you can change the SAP HANA express edition XSA configuration to use the public FQDN of your CAL instance and not an internal hostname alias (as in the standard configuration). Using the external hostname allows you to connect from your browser on your PC or Mac to the SAP HANA express edition instance, for example, to run the SAP web IDE for SAP HANA.

  1. I'm doing similar but with HXE on premise, with a ddns account but get errors as below at the first atage with xs api. Is this a firewall issue or something else? Any suggestions?

    [email protected]:/usr/sap/HXE/HDB90> xs api https://hanaXXXX.ddns.net:39030

FAILED: Could not connect to controller on https://hanaXXXX.ddns.net:39030
Connection refused (Connection refused) (local port 56809 to address 192.168.1.140 (hanaXXXX.ddns.net), remote port 39030 to address 192.168.1.140 (hanaXXXX.ddns.net))

  2. Hello! I'm stuck at at the 'xs l' log in step.. I get an error message when I enter the API_URL: 'FAILED: SSL connection error (supposedly untrusted connection, check the certificates)'. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

  3. This is a good video. I followed it exactly but at the end, I can get to the URL with port 53075 but when I enter any of the users (XSA_ADMIN, SYSTEM), I get – Permission denied!.

I created another user and add most of the roles – but this did not work. Any help would be appreciated.
