  1. I'm listening this for 5 minutes and all that you could said in one minute.
It is 8:26 now and you still telling us same information from the first minute.
    Boring. Kill me please.

  2. Great video! Thanks Lisa. Not many, almost none is talking about this subject this way – which is really basic for good start in any niche. What static website is for, and different between blog.

  3. This is absolutely cool, Lisa. You just helped me with my confusion. Now I know what to choose between a bog and a static website. Your videos are always great and so are you, Lisa. Keep on inspiring and helping newbies like me! You are an online genius. Thanks a lot.

  4. Good info here. A website cms and blog cms operate a little different. I like to use my blog for quick tips and thoughts and my website cms for detailed articles. For my website cms I like Joomla and for my blog cms I like WordPress.

  5. Hi Lisa, I listened to a lot of your videos and decided to go with a blog. I have done websites before but wanted to look at wordpress. I built a site and learned a ton of info about wordpress the hard way by reading and working it.

  6. I need to dust off xsitepro your right I just hate building sites, and wordpress makes it easier. What about using static pages on wordpress or are you still 2011 website orientated?.

  7. Thank you for this post. I was sitting here trying to figure out why I can't get my "blog" to look like a website. I use wordpress, but I didn't know about clicking on web design and I didn't understand the difference between using blogger vs a product like SBI. I have been resistant to using SBI because I didn't understand the real reason to use it until today.

Animation Shorts I think a lot of people here that wordpress is a great site for websites, but we really don't understand why.

  8. Thanks for creating this video and explaining the differences. great job. This really cleared some issues i've had with what to do with my content.

I would also like to add a thank you as I am currently in the process of putting together a blog for a web business class at the Rochester Institute of Technology and plan on recommending your videos and sites to the class when we begin to cover Monetization of our sites.

  11. I would like to start by thanking you for all of the very informing videos that you post onto you tube. Before I came across your videos I could no watch a Youtube video longer then 5 minutes for the life of me.

Now that, that's out of the way I would like to say that a blog is a website like everyone else has stated. It is just the choice of CMS (Content Management System) that one particular person may prefer. I have not seen you mention anything about CMS in any of your videos so this may

  12. @Hobbitstomper @Hobbitstomper We are probably all self-taught on the importance of websites and blogs. I like your term 'classic website' but static sites are fading away and dynamic websites are popular with visitors now. I have been learning how to use Joomla 1.5 which is a free open-source software with unlimited potential. My dynamic site is still forming and growing but when I'm done; my growth potential online will have no bounds.

    Thanx

  15. Great Vid Lisa! I haven't updated my website in months. Why? I got STUCK! I have a big issue on deciding which one I need. I don't know much on how to generate geniune content. However, if I could upload 2 to 3 photographs (oh, I am a photographer), and comment about the event or photo shoot I did, I might build some real traffic.

  16. I see what you are talking about Lisa. I am going to start working on that with my blog. It is not as easy as I thought it would be, but eventually I will have it organized. Thanks for the insite.

  17. Have you uploaded any videos about how to do pod casting or webisodes?

I'm interested in creating and writing fictional stories and using pod casting
and/or webisodes to tell my stories.

  18. @lisa3876 I own a blog, and have a section which is a static page called "Build a Website". On this page I have a set of links that go through the steps of building a site. Those links are actually blog posts.
I think blogs can be just as efficient as a static website (if not better because their dynamic). A way to prevent confusion is to organize your content. Which is what I did with my "Build a Website" page.
