CLOUD IS JUST A METAPHOR FOR THE INTERNET. … WHEN YOU STORE DATA ON OR RUN PROGRAMS FROM THE HARD DRIVE, THAT'S CALLED LOCAL STORAGE AND COMPUTING.
CLOUD COMPUTING IS THE PRACTICE OF USING A NETWORK OF REMOTE SERVERS HOSTED ON THE INTERNET TO STORE, MANAGE, AND PROCESS DATA, RATHER THAN A LOCAL SERVER OR A PERSONAL COMPUTER.
THREE DECADES AGO, I WAS SHIP CAPTAIN IN A US READY RESERVE FLEET MERCHANT COMPANY .. THEY HAD SUCH DEEP POCKETS THAT THE GOTRA SUPERINTENDENT WOULD COME ON THE SHIP AND TELL " CAPTAIN, DONT BE SO THRIFTY. I AM AUTHORISING YOU TO SPEND 10,000 USD TO BUY PAINTINGS FOR THE SHIPs ALLEYWAYS"
AND KNEE JERK I WOULD REPLY BACK– "NO, I WONT ALLOW MY SHIP TO LOOK LIKE A WHOREHOUSE.. THIS IS A TANKER . MINDSETS ARE IMPORTANT "..
THE COMPANY HAD PAID GOOD MONEY TO BUY A SOFTWARE CALLED ULYSSES.. IT WAS LYING UNUSED.. I THOUGHT ABOUT A REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT CALLED "VIRTUAL TEAMING".. I HAD A HARD TIME MAKING CUNTS UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEANT..
