Convert Drupal to static site using HTTrack and deploy to GitHub Pages

Hosting a Drupal site can come at a cost. You need to pay for hosting and have developer resources to provide security patches. If you have some Drupal (or other CMS) sites with a database backend hanging around that you’re not quite ready to retire yet, but also not able to maintain, convert them to static websites (simple HTML, CSS, and Javascript files) and put them up on gh-pages for free!

  1. Thanks Jim! I love HTTrack – it's an oldy but goody. I remember when I found it years ago and used it to migrate sites (pre CMS era HTML sites) to new servers and to clone sites — what fun! It has been around forever, nice to see longevity like that and you have put it to good use here.
