  5. I intend to run MediaWiki from a hosted site with mediawiki installed as toolbar. However, I would like to set it up on a computer first, then port it over. Is it necessary to set up a server in order to run mediawiki?

  6. i cannot see the Mediawiki screen at 9:23. i see "Index of /mediawiki"

  16. Hi Andrew, Nice video!

One thing to make explicit: the path to media wiki has to match the folder name exactly. I actually installed XAMPP and Media Wiki prior to watching your video. But then I couldn't see Media Wiki. The problem turned out was that I did not rename the folder — it was "mediawiki-1.24.1"  but I was putting http://localhost/mediawiki into my browser. I needed to either put http://localhost/mediawiki-1.24.1 in the browser or rename the folder. When I watched your video, it made me realize the issue.

P.S. Did you use Camtasia to make your video?

  17. The title uses the phrasal noun "setup" where it should use the phrasal verb "set up". For examples of phrasal verbs and phrasal nouns, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBlQSd-jcSI

  18. So this tutorial is perfect don't get me wrong, but i got 1 question.
I'm trying to make this wiki accesable for other networks since im doing this for school this is required.
Other hosts are not able to connect to my wiki, how do i fix this. Do i have to change my IP settings? and how do i do this?

  19. every time when i try to start mysql it says: "Unexpected shutdown" and i can't open "/localhost/phpmyadmin/"
What am i doing wrong 🙁 I did exactly the same as you D:

  20. I'm so grateful you made this. I'm inept when it comes to this sort of stuff for some reason, and I was struggling with the individual installations for hours, but your video was really simplistic and easy to follow so I breezed through everything. Thank you.

  21. hi friends ……can anyone tell how to moving the wiki from one server to another server..thanks in advance…
