What is VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter?
In this video I give a quick break down of some of the key features and differences between VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5 and VMware vCenter 6.5. I also give a quick demonstration of what it looks like when both ESXi and the vCenter Server Appliance are fully booted and sitting at the console screen. Lastly, I demo vSphere ESXi 6.5’s Web UI along with both the flash based and HTML 5 based vCenter Web UI’s. By the end of the video you should have a basic idea of what VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter are, how they look and are managed from an end user perspective and also when to bring vCenter into your environment.

How does the physical machine has 2 CPUs and 6 cores each and the virtual machines have got more than 2?
Thanks to this genius. I was hell confused on what is the difference between ESXi interface and vSphere interface and how can I install them. It seems crystal clear now.
I have Genuine All Edition VMware software for sale. Price is 1 to 3 USD Per key only. My skype is: sabir.shah74

Hi Rob. Have you even tried to install the ESXi on a Apple Mac Pro 3 Hardware. If yes do drop some tips. Thanks
ths is soo good, to the point, crisp and concise
Can anyone tell how difficult is to get the VMWare certifications? I have watched few videos of the platform bu I don't find it difficult to use, everything looks pretty straight forward.
I have used virtual machines for many years now, not at the enterprise level where I'm heading to for a job now.
I'm wondering if it's worth it to get them or just the experience with labs
Thank you Rob for this Video
I really dont comment a lot anymore, but having some real info that's not the corporate jargon hell of the vmware website is a real help for cutting through, and learning all this stuff. Big props man.
Great Explanations
AWESOME JOB!
Thanks, really helped me out in getting things in order and saving tons of hours of trying to make sense out of it.
the slide easy to understand thanks for the tutorial!
Excellent Tutorial! Thanks
Thanks for this video. It cleared a lot of things up for me.
This was 100 times more informative than going to VMWare's website and watching their videos. Thank you!
Great video that clears up all the clouds about ESXi and VCentre. It really amazes me that VMWare does not have a single document which explains all this even half as clearly.
You explained this so well. Thanks.
Hi Rob,
It's the clearest and concise tutorial I have found so far. Very well done and thanks for doing that. I was confused about the vSphere architecture but now I have a clear conception.
GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

All the thousands of waisted hours writing manuals, creating support pages and forums and this guy just sums it so nicely in under 30mins. Just shows that you can have the best productin the world but if you dont have people like Rob Willis to spark your interest, then you still got nothing. Well done, been looking to do something like this.
This is an excellent excellent video well done !!
Great Job, Thank you !
I had never heard of a "flash" based interface, I tried googling this term and didn't find anything. Is this a term you made up? Can anyone explain the logic behind using this word? I understand flash memory, that makes sense but what is a flash interface?
well explained. K.I.S.S keep it simple silly
Awesome vide my man. Keep it up!
This should be THE definitive video when someone searches “vmware”. Well done
